Filter HTTPS traffic

HTTPS is a protocol created for secure transfer of data on the Web. For all complexities of its filtering, ContentWasher offers built-in capabilities for filtering traffic transferred via the HTTPS protocol.

However it is not recommended for home users to enable HTTPS traffic filtering. Websites unsuitable for children, as a rule, do not use this protocol but the protocol is used to transfer important and even secret information, such as numbers of credit cards. Therefore we recommend that home users should disable HTTPS traffic filtering, so that the program does not interfere into the process of transferring confidential data.

On the other hand, HTTPS traffic filtering can be required by our corporate clients. Sometimes it may be necessary to block all websites, except one or two. To block sites that use HTTPS protocol, you need to enable this feature.
